- Frankincense Essential Oil
- Cornstarch. Alternative: arrowroot powder.
- Vitamin E capsule
- Optional: Essential Oil
- Optional: Mica Color Powder
Tools Needed
- Bowl
- Whisk
- Container
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.
First, We Will Make The Frankincense Oil
You can buy the frankincense oil, or you can easily make your own; this way at least you ensure that you are using a high-quality oil:
- Using a coffee grinder, grind one tablespoon of frankincense till it becomes powder
- Add 100 grams (3.53 oz) of sweet almond oil
- Store the container for 20 days in a cabinet. Shake the container every day or so.
- Important: after 20 days, filter it thoroughly to remove any residue completely
Steps: DIY Frankincense Body Butter
1- Place 100 grams (3.53 oz) of soft cocoa butter in a bowl.
2- Add 1 tablespoon of frankincense oil to the cocoa butter.
3- Add 10 drops of frankincense essential oil.
4- Use a whisk to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
5- As an optional step, you can add a little mica color powder and mix. Choose a color that matches more or less the color of the frankincense, which is golden brown.
6- Frankincense essential oil has been added in step 3. This concentrated oil carries all the powerful benefits of frankincense and also provides a subtle, natural scent suitable as a fragrance. If you’d like to enhance the aroma, feel free to add 1–3 drops of your preferred essential oil to create a personalized scent blend.
7- Add the contents of a vitamin E capsule to the mixture and stir thoroughly.
8- Add 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch to the blend and mix well.
9- Scoop the DIY frankincense body butter into a glass container for storage, and you’re done!
Using the DIY Frankincense Body Butter
To use the frankincense body butter, simply scoop a small amount onto your fingers and massage it into your skin, focusing on dry areas like elbows, knees, and heels. The body butter will melt upon contact with your skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated.
You can use it on your entire body, including your face (just be careful to avoid the eye area). For best results, use daily after showering or bathing to lock in moisture and keep your skin looking and feeling its best.
Enjoy the luxurious feel and invigorating scent of this all-natural body butter, and let it nourish your skin from head to toe!
