If you’re looking for a natural way to revitalize your skin and give it a healthy glow, consider making your own DIY licorice cream for skin.
Licorice extract is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-lightening properties, making it a great choice for people with sensitive or uneven skin. The good news is, you don’t have to spend a fortune on fancy creams to reap the benefits of licorice extract.
In this article, we’ll show you how to create a homemade cream with licorice extract that will leave your skin looking and feeling rejuvenated. So let’s dive in and learn how to make your own DIY licorice cream for skin!
Note: the DIY licorice cream for skin that we are making in this article has a core ingredient: licorice extract, and it should be prepared beforehand. It is very easy to make:
- Add 2 tablespoons of ground licorice in a glass jar
- Pour sweet almond oil over the licorice to fill up half the jar. Mix well.
- Wrap the jar with aluminum foil and store it away for 30 days, shaking the jar every 3 days.
- After 30 days, filter the extract repeatedly and thoroughly to remove any licorice residue.
Ingredients Needed
Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.
-
Cream base: Having a pre-made cream base simplifies the process greatly. The cream base comes free from any additives, such as oils, extracts, fragrance or coloring.
The important thing to ask when you buy the cream base is how much additives – oils and extracts – can be added to the cream base. Why is it important? Because if more oils or extracts are added to the cream base, they might not be mixed properly and they might separate.
In this product, I am using 50 grams of cream base, and I know that it can assimilate 20-25 grams of additives.
The cream base also comes with a preservative already added.
- Glycerine
- Licorice extract as explained above
- Lavender fragrance oil
- Vitamin E capsule
Tools Needed
- Scale to weigh measurements
- Bowl
- Mixing utensil
- Alcohol spray 70%
- Jar
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.
Measurements
- 50 grams of cream base = 1.76 oz
- 1 gram of glycerine = 0.03 oz
- 2 grams of licorice extract = 0.07 oz
- 1 gram of lavender oil = 0.03 oz
