Introducing the DIY Pomegranate Face Mask: Revitalize Your Skin with Antioxidant Power. This mask uses just three natural ingredients: dried pomegranate skin powder, aloe vera gel, and distilled water. Pomegranate skin powder is rich in antioxidants, which help to neutralize free radicals, promoting a radiant complexion.

Combined with the hydrating properties of aloe vera gel, this mask not only nourishes but also revitalizes your skin. It’s an easy, effective way to achieve a healthy glow using natural ingredients.

Ingredients Needed

Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.

  • Powder of dried pomegranate skin. Buy it pre-made, or make it at home as explained below.
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Distilled water

Tools Needed

  • One or two small bowl(s)
  • Teaspoon
  • Small whisk
  • Small container to store your DIY Pomegranate Face Mask

Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

Making Powder of Dried Pomegranate Skin

Follow these steps to create your homemade powder:

a) Prepare the Pomegranate Skins: Start by peeling the outer skin of fresh pomegranates. Aim to remove as much of the white pith (inner membrane) as possible, keeping only the outer red or pinkish skin. You can collect the peels over time until you have enough for drying.

b) Sun-Dry the Peels: Lay out the peeled pomegranate skins in a single layer on a clean, dry surface that receives direct sunlight. Ensure there is good airflow around the peels. Leave them to dry in the sun for 2-3 days or until they are completely dry and crisp.

c) Grind into Powder: Once the pomegranate skins are fully dried, they should be brittle and easy to break. Transfer them to a spice grinder, food processor, or mortar and pestle. Grind the dried skins into a fine powder consistency. Ensure there are no large pieces remaining for a smooth application in your face mask.

d) Store Properly: Store the homemade dried pomegranate skin powder in an airtight container, preferably in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Preparing Pomegranate Skin Powder with Water

a) Pour a quarter cup or half cup of lukewarm distilled water into a small bowl.

b) Add a teaspoon of pomegranate skin powder.

c) Leave the pomegranate skin powder in the water for 2 hours to allow the diffusion of its beneficial properties into the water.

d) Strain out the powder residue, leaving the healthy solution for use in the mask.
