Steps: DIY Serum for Eye Wrinkles

Spoon Measurement Terms

In some articles, we use ‘One Spoon,’ ‘Rounded Spoon,’ and ‘Heaped Spoon’ for non-liquid ingredients instead of precise measurements. These terms apply to both tablespoons and teaspoons:

  • One Spoon: Ingredient filled and leveled in a measuring spoon.
  • Rounded Spoon: Ingredient slightly piled above the spoon’s edge.
  • Heaped Spoon: Ingredient scooped as high as possible on the spoon

1- Let’s begin with coconut oil. In cold weather, when coconut oil is solid, scoop one rounded tablespoon of coconut oil into a cup and melt it using a bain-marie (hot water bath). To set up a bain-marie, place the cup in a larger pot of hot, steaming water. This method will gradually heat and melt the contents of the cup. Stir gently while melting.

In the image below, my cup is sitting over a candle, which gently melts the coconut oil.

In warm weather, when coconut oil is already liquid, simply pour 15 grams (0.53 oz) of coconut oil into the cup.
