For those seeking a natural and luxurious way to pamper their skin, DIY Rose Body Butter is the perfect solution.
This easy-to-make body butter is made with refined shea butter and rose essential oil. It provides deep hydration and nourishment to the skin. Not only does it leave your skin feeling soft and silky, but it also offers a relaxing aromatherapy experience with the soothing scent of roses.
In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of creating your own DIY Rose Body Butter and explore the many benefits it has to offer for your skin.
Ingredients Needed
- Refined Shea Butter (odorless)
- Rose Essential Oil
- Magnolia Essential Oil (optional)
- Liquid Oil-soluble Color. If you have the oil-soluble color powder, just dissolve a little of the powder in a small quantity of sweet almond oil. You can also use mica color powder.
Note: Since we are making a rose body butter, I will use red oil-soluble color, so that when we add it to the whitish shea butter, we end up with a rosy color that fits the product name.
Notes on Ingredients
Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.
When an essential oil is included, I use either concentrated or diluted essential oils. If using concentrated essential oils, use up to 0.5% by weight to ensure safety for all skin types. To use diluted essential oils, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of concentrated essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
If a recipe calls for fragrance oil, you can use diluted essential oil instead to benefit from both its scent and therapeutic effects. This provides a natural alternative to synthetic fragrance oils and offers additional benefits.
Tools Needed
- Scale to weigh quantities
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing utensil
- Container to store your DIY Rose Body Butter
Steps: DIY Rose Body Butter
1- Place a bowl over the scale and measure out 200 grams of refined shea butter.
2- Add 4-7 drops of oil-soluble color to the contents.
3- Using a mixing utensil, thoroughly mix the color into the shea butter to ensure that it is combined well.
4- It is now time to add the essential oils for fragrance. Add 10 drops of the rose essential oil into the product and mix well.
5- For extra scent, I will also add 5 drops of the magnolia essential oil and mix once again. This is optional.
6- Finally, put the rose body butter in a container of your choice.
How To Use: DIY Rose Body Butter
Here are some tips on how to use your DIY Rose Body Butter:
a. Start with clean, dry skin. It’s best to use the body butter after a bath or shower, when your skin is still slightly damp.
b. Take a small amount of the body butter and warm it up in your palms. This will help to melt the butter and make it easier to apply.
c. Massage the body butter into your skin using circular motions. Pay special attention to dry or rough areas like elbows, knees, and heels.
d. Allow the body butter to absorb fully into your skin before getting dressed, as it may leave an oily residue on clothing.
e. Use the body butter as often as needed to keep your skin soft, smooth, and hydrated. It’s perfect for use as a daily moisturizer, or as a luxurious treat for your skin after a long day.
