- Saffron carrier oil
- Mica color powders, white and gold

Tools Needed
- Scale to weigh quantities
- Knife to cut the glycerine soap into pieces
- Grater to grate a small piece of the musk cube
- Glass beaker
- Glass mixing rod
- Digital thermometer to check the temperature of the contents
- Thin and clean painting brush
- Silicone soap mold with flower design
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.
Steps: DIY Musk Soap Recipe
1- If you haven’t done so yet, cut the transparent glycerine soap into pieces.
2- Put 150 grams (5.29 oz) of glycerine soap pieces in a beaker.
3- Add 3 grams only (0.10 oz) of grated musk. If you exceed this quantity, the soap may end up creamy.
4- Add 5 grams (0.17 oz) of coco betaine.
5- Gently heat and melt the ingredients in a bain-marie (hot water bath). A bain-marie is made by placing the beaker in a larger pot of hot, steaming water. This will gradually heat and melt the contents. Make sure to stir while the mixture is melting. Avoid boiling.
Note: If the glycerine soap you are using is of high quality, once melted in the bain-marie, it remains easily manageable, maintaining a liquid state while working with it, until poured into the mold.
6- Add 5 grams (0.17 oz) of saffron carrier oil.
7- Mix thoroughly with a glass mixing rod.
8- Add some white mica color powder.
9- Mix the color powder thoroughly.
10- Allow the contents to cool down to a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celcius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Only then the fragrance oil can be added.
11- Add 9 grams (0.31 oz) of musk fragrance oil.
12- Continue stirring .
13- Pour enough for two soap bars into the silicone mold. For the remaining quantity, we will add another mica color.
14- Add some gold mica to the remaining quantity, and stir rigorously.
15- Pour the golden mixture into separate cavities of the soap mold.
Note: The quantity of ingredients utilized should yield four soap bars, but this depends on the cavity size in your mold.
16- Allow the soap to cool off. This should take approximately three hours depending on the room temperature.
17- After the soap has solidified, slowly and carefully remove the bars from the mold.
Let’s Decorate the Soap Bars
18- As an optional step, use a thin brush to apply gold mica on the surface of the golden soaps, accentuating the lines of the flower design.
19- Do the same for the pearly soaps, but this time using the white mica.
The change in look of the soaps is dramatic and imparts a more appealing aesthetic to the bars.
