Ingredients Needed

  • Foaming Bath Butter: You can buy it readymade, or you can make it yourself as per this article.
  • Rose Powder, which is dried rose petals ground finely
  • Rose Essential Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Rose Extract: The extract can be based on glycerine, or alcohol, or oil. You can make it easily at home: Here is an article on how to make it based on glycerine.
  • Oil-soluble Color Powder or Mica Color Powder. Since we are making a rose creamy soap, I will use two colors: fuchsia and red.
  • Optional: Preservative Phenoxyethanol. If you will be using the creamy soap over a longer time, it is advisable to add a preservative.

Notes on Ingredients

Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.

When an essential oil is included, I use either concentrated or diluted essential oils. If using concentrated essential oils, use up to 0.5% by weight to ensure safety for all skin types. To use diluted essential oils, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of concentrated essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.

If a recipe calls for fragrance oil, you can use diluted essential oil instead to benefit from both its scent and therapeutic effects. This provides a natural alternative to synthetic fragrance oils and offers additional benefits.

Tools Needed

  • Scale to measure quantities
  • Bowls
  • Plastic spoons
  • Hand mixer
  • Glass mixing rod
  • Plastic jar or container to store the rose creamy soap

Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

6- Now, let’s prepare the color mix. We cannot add the oil color powder directly to the ingredients; the powder might not dissolve properly. This is why we prepare it separately, then add it to the ingredients.

In a separate small cup, pour 9 grams (0.31 oz) of the rose essential oil.

7- Add a little quantity of each oil color powder to the essential oil: fuchsia and red. You can use one color only if you prefer.

8- Mix the color powders well with the rose essential oil.

9- Pour the color mix over the ingredients.

12- Mix well.

13- Finally, add 3 grams (0.10 oz) of phenoxyethanol preservative. If the rose creamy soap you are making is for personal use, and will be used within 3 months, it is optional to add the preservative. Otherwise, the preservative is to be added.

14- Scoop the rose creamy soap into a plastic container. For aesthetics purposes, sprinkle some dried rose on its surface. And you’re done!

How To Use: DIY Rose Creamy Soap

a. Start with clean, dry skin.

b. Take a small amount of the DIY Rose Creamy Soap and apply it directly to your skin, focusing on the desired areas.

c. Gently massage the soap into your skin using circular motions, ensuring even coverage.

d. Once applied, allow the soap to sit on your skin for approximately 30 minutes. This allows the beneficial properties of the rose, coconut oil, and other ingredients to work their magic.

e. After the recommended time has passed, wet your hands with warm water.

f. Lather the soap on your skin using your wet hands, creating a rich and creamy lather.

g. Continue massaging the lather onto your skin, allowing it to cleanse and nourish deeply.

h. Rinse off thoroughly with warm water, ensuring all traces of the soap are removed.

i. Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel.

j. Follow up with your preferred moisturizer to seal in the benefits and keep your skin hydrated.

By allowing the DIY Rose Creamy Soap to sit on your skin before lathering, you give ample time for the ingredients to penetrate and provide their rejuvenating effects. This method enhances the overall skincare experience and maximizes the benefits for your skin.
