Looking for a fun and easy way to pamper your skin? Try making your own DIY Aloe Vera Gel Scrub with glitter! This scrub not only exfoliates and moisturizes your skin, but it also adds a touch of glam with the addition of mica colors and glitter.
Aloe vera gel is known for its hydrating and soothing properties, making it the perfect base for this luxurious scrub. And with the added benefits of essential oils and sand, your skin will be left looking and feeling its best.
In this article, we’ll show you how to make your own glittery DIY Aloe Vera Gel Scrub, so you can indulge in some self-care while giving your skin the love it deserves!
Ingredients Needed
- Aloe vera gel
- Aloe vera body oil
- Mica color powder (we’ll use green mica color here)
- Glitter
- Sand (alternative: almond shell powder)
- Any essential oil
Notes on Ingredients
Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.
When an essential oil is included, I use either concentrated or diluted essential oils. If using concentrated essential oils, use up to 0.5% by weight to ensure safety for all skin types. To use diluted essential oils, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of concentrated essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
If a recipe calls for fragrance oil, you can use diluted essential oil instead to benefit from both its scent and therapeutic effects. This provides a natural alternative to synthetic fragrance oils and offers additional benefits.
Tools Needed
- Scale to measure quantities
- Small bowl
- Tablespoons
- Mixing/stirring sticks
- Container to store your DIY Aloe Vera Gel Scrub
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

How To Use: DIY Aloe Vera Gel Scrub
a. Begin by wetting your skin with warm water to help open up your pores and prepare your skin for exfoliation.
b. Take a small amount of the DIY Aloe Vera Gel Scrub with Glitter and apply it to the desired area.
c. Using gentle circular motions, massage the scrub into your skin, focusing on any dry or rough patches.
d. Continue to massage for 1-2 minutes, taking care not to apply too much pressure.
e. Rinse the scrub off with warm water and pat your skin dry with a towel.
f. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer or body oil for an extra boost of hydration.
Note: As with any new skincare product, it’s a good idea to patch test the scrub on a small area of skin before using it all over your body to ensure that you don’t have any adverse reactions. Avoid using the scrub on any areas of broken or irritated skin.
