Introducing our guide to creating your very own DIY Body Mist with Essential Oil. If you’re looking to infuse your daily routine with a touch of personalized luxury, crafting a signature scent is the perfect way to do it. With just a few simple ingredients and some creative flair, you can concoct a delightful body mist that not only invigorates your senses but also leaves you feeling refreshed and confident throughout the day.

In this step-by-step article, we’ll walk you through the process of making a unique body mist using essential oils, allowing you to express your individuality and embrace the beauty of natural fragrances. Let’s dive in and unleash the art of crafting your very own DIY Body Mist with Essential Oil.

Ingredients Needed

  • Medical alcohol 95%
  • Distilled water
  • Essential oil. Here, I will use rose essential oil.
  • Vegetable glycerine
  • Polysorbate 80, also known as tween 80
  • Water-soluble color powder

Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products. Also, where an essential oil is included in my recipes, I utilize either of two types of essential oils: pure, if added in drops, or diluted, if mixed in grams.

Tools Needed

  • Small beaker
  • Wooden popsicle
  • Wooden toothpick
  • 100-milliliter spray bottle (3.38 US fl oz)

Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

Steps: DIY Body Mist with Essential Oil

We will prepare 100 milliliters (3.38 US fl oz) of the body mist.

1- Start by adding 10 grams (0.35 oz) of rose essential oil into a beaker. You can use any essential oil that you like.

6- Add 30 grams (1.05 0z) of distilled water. Stir as you pour slowly the water. Notice how the contents are now clearer.

7- Mix well.

8- Now, we will add the water-soluble color powder. I used rose essential oil, so I will make the color of the body mist rosy. If you chose another essential oil, use a color that goes with the scent.

With the tip of a toothpick, pick up a little color powder and mix it with the contents. If the color of the body mist is too light, add a bit more. Keep in mind that you don’t want the color of the mist too strong.

9- This color is good for a rose-scented body mist.

10- Add 1 gram (0.035 oz) of vegetable glycerine.

11- Mix thoroughly.

12- Pour the body mist into a spray bottle. If you have used the proper quantities of the ingredients, as indicated above, you will notice how clear the body mist is. It will become even clearer after it is aged, as I explain in the next step.

13- How do we age the body mist: Wrap the spray bottle in a small towel or cloth, and place it in the fridge for 3 days. Then, remove it from the fridge and store it in a cabinet for another 3 days. This is the aging period, and it allows the body mist to stabilize. This also allows the smell of the alcohol to dissipate.

14- Now, you can use your DIY Body Mist with Essential Oil. Enjoy!

How To Use: DIY Body Mist with Essential Oil

Follow these simple steps to make the most of your personalized creation:

  1. Shake well: Before each use, give your body mist a good shake to ensure that all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Spritz on skin: Hold the bottle about 6 to 8 inches away from your body and spray a fine mist over your skin. Focus on pulse points like the wrists, neck, and behind the ears for a longer-lasting fragrance.

  5. On-the-go refreshment: Carry a travel-sized bottle in your bag for quick and revitalizing touch-ups throughout the day.
