- Rose essential oil
- Pink mica color powder
- Vitamin E capsule for skin
Notes on Ingredients
Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.
When an essential oil is included, I use either concentrated or diluted essential oils. If using concentrated essential oils, use up to 0.5% by weight to ensure safety for all skin types. To use diluted essential oils, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of concentrated essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
If a recipe calls for fragrance oil, you can use diluted essential oil instead to benefit from both its scent and therapeutic effects. This provides a natural alternative to synthetic fragrance oils and offers additional benefits.
Tools Needed
- Scale to weigh quantities
- Stainless steel cup
- Knife
- Small silicone spatula
- Wooden popsicle
- Small glass container to store your DIY Rose Body Butter at Home
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.
Steps: DIY Rose Body Butter at Home
1- Start by putting 25 grams (0.88 oz) of solid cocoa butter in a cup.
2- Add 5 grams (0.17 oz) of beeswax.
3- Add 20 grams (0.70 oz) of rose carrier oil.
4- Place the cup in a bain-marie (hot water bath). A bain-marie is done by placing the cup in a larger pot of hot steaming water. This will gradually heat/melt whatever is inside the cup. As the contents melt, make sure to mix every now and then.
5- After removing the cup from the bain-marie, with the tip of a wooden popsicle, add a little pink mica powder.
6- Mix thoroughly.
7- Allow the mix to settle and cool for two minutes. This is necessary before adding the essential oil. If you add the essential oil while the mixture is hot, it might dissipate.
8- Add 10-15 drops of rose essential oil. This is up to you, and depends on how strong you would like your rose body butter to be. Start with a few drops, stir and smell the mix. Add more if you wish.
9- Cut a Vitamin E capsule, and squeeze out 3 drops into the mix.
10- Mix again thoroughly.
11- Pour the mix into a small glass container for storage.
12- Allow the body butter to cool down. And you’re done!

Intense Hydration: Enriched with the natural emollients of cocoa and the moisturizing prowess of rose oil, your DIY body butter provides a deep and lasting hydration. It penetrates the skin’s layers, replenishing moisture and leaving your skin irresistibly soft and supple.
Nourishing Petal Power: Rose oil infuses your body butter with vitamins, antioxidants, and soothing properties. This helps to revitalize tired skin, promoting a youthful and radiant appearance.
Skin Elasticity: The blend of cocoa and rose ingredients helps maintain and enhance skin elasticity. Regular use can contribute to a firmer and more toned complexion, reducing the appearance of fine lines and promoting a youthful glow.
Aromatherapeutic Bliss: The delicate and enchanting aroma of roses creates an indulgent sensory experience. The subtle fragrance can uplift your mood, ease stress, and enhance relaxation, turning your skincare routine into a serene ritual.
Gentle Glow Enhancer: The combination of cocoa and rose imparts a gentle glow to your skin. The nourishing formula works to balance your complexion, minimizing dullness and promoting a naturally radiant look that exudes vitality.
Tips and Tricks
Temperature Matters: Store your DIY Rose Body Butter in a cool, dry place to maintain its consistency and effectiveness. If exposed to excessive heat, the butter may soften or melt.
Patch Test First: Before applying the body butter all over, perform a patch test on a small area of your skin. This precaution helps ensure you don’t have any unexpected reactions to the ingredients. Wait 24 hours to observe any potential sensitivities before proceeding with regular use.
Layering Delicacy: For a truly indulgent experience, consider layering your body butter. Start with a thin application and allow it to absorb. Then, if desired, follow up with your favorite unscented lotion or oil to seal in the moisture and extend the fragrance.
Versatile Application: While the body butter is a luxurious treat for your skin, it can also be used as a subtle fragrance enhancer. Apply a small amount to pulse points like your wrists and neck for a delicate and lasting rose-scented allure throughout the day.
