In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the simple yet luxurious process of making your own nourishing DIY hand cream with rose extract. Elevate your skincare routine and treat your hands to the soothing properties of this floral elixir.
Embrace the beauty of natural ingredients as we unveil the secrets to crafting a personalized hand cream that leaves your skin soft, scented, and cared for.
Ingredients Needed
- Cream Base. It is described as base because it is raw and pure, with no additives. So it has no oils, extracts, color or fragrance added to it. It is meant to be a base to which you add your own additives to make the cream or lotion that you desire. For example, if you wish to make an anti-aging cream, you just add to it the oils and extracts that help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines like this cream here.
- Wheat Germ Oil
- Rose Extract. Consider making your own at home following the guidelines outlined in this article. Keep in mind that preparing the extract will require one month before it’s ready to be incorporated into your homemade beauty products.
- Liquid Oil-soluble Color, red color
- Rose Fragrance Oil
Notes on Ingredients
Choose high-quality ingredients to boost the effectiveness and safety of your DIY beauty products.
When an essential oil is included, I use either concentrated or diluted essential oils. If using concentrated essential oils, use up to 0.5% by weight to ensure safety for all skin types. To use diluted essential oils, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of concentrated essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
If a recipe calls for fragrance oil, you can use diluted essential oil instead to benefit from both its scent and therapeutic effects. This provides a natural alternative to synthetic fragrance oils and offers additional benefits.
Tools Needed

- Small containers to store your DIY Hand Cream with Rose Extract
Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

Steps: DIY Hand Cream with Rose Extract
1- Start by putting 100 grams (3.52 oz) of pure cream base in a bowl.
2- Add 2-3 drops of red liquid oily color. This liquid color is soluble in oils. If you have oily color powder instead, mix some with sweet almond oil. Keep in mind that the ideal hand and body cream often features a mild color.
3- Mix the color with the base cream thoroughly using a wooden popsicle stick.
4- Add 2 grams (0.07 oz) of rose extract.
5- Add 5 grams (0.17 oz) of wheat germ oil.
6- Mix thoroughly the contents with a whisk.
7- Add 3 grams (0.10 oz) of rose fragrance oil. Use this quantity if the fragrance oil is normal or diluted. If the fragrance oil is concentrated, add 3 drops only.
8- Mix the contents rigorously with a whisk.
9- Scoop the cream into one or more small containers. It is now ready for use.
