Ingredients Needed

  • Virgin coconut oil
  • White pure shea butter
  • Olive oil, or sweet almond oil

Also, where an essential oil is included in my recipes, I utilize either of two types of essential oils: pure if added in drops, or diluted if mixed in grams—For diluted essential oil, mix 1 gram (0.035 oz) of pure essential oil with 100 grams (3.5 oz) of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.

  • Jar or container to store the cream

Prior to use, ensure that both your utensils and containers are properly cleaned and disinfected. Wash them with warm soapy water, dry with a tissue, and then sanitize by spraying with 70% medical alcohol. Wipe them clean and let them air dry before use.

1- Put 20 grams (0.70 oz) of coconut oil in the bowl.

2- Add 30 grams (1.05 oz) of white shea butter.

3- Add 10 tablespoons of olive oil. Each tablespoon is 15 milliliters, so total to add is 150 milliliters or 54 grams (1.90 oz) of olive oil.

4- Now, we will melt the contents in a hot water bath (bain-marie). A hot water bath is done by placing the bowl in a larger pot of hot steaming water. This will gradually melt whatever is inside the bowl without causing it to burn. As the contents of the bowl melt, make sure to mix every now and then.

5- After the contents have melted, remove the bowl from the bain-marie.

6- Place the bowl with its contents in the fridge to allow the mix to half-harden. When you remove the bowl from the fridge, you should be able to press with your finger into the mix.

7- Using an electric mixer, whip up the contents to a cream-like consistency.

Note: If you feel that the mix is too thick for your liking, add more olive oil and mix again with the electric mixer.

8- Your DIY Cream for Mild Eczema is now done. Scoop the cream into a container for storage.
